Columbia police investigate reported home invasion robbery

UPDATE 10/19: Police said the preliminary investigation revealed an occupant of the residence answered the door and two male suspects forced entry into the home.

Police said the suspects indicated they had a firearm.

The suspects retrieved several items from the home before fleeing the area, officers said.

Police said there were no reported injuries or property damage.

The investigation is on-going, police said.

ORIGINAL: The Columbia Police Department is looking for two suspects who robbed four people overnight.

Lt. Matt Stephens said officers responded to an armed home invasion at Creekwood Estates in the 3500 block of Clark Lane.

The victims said a gun was involved and described the suspects as two black males wearing hooded sweatshirts. Their faces were covered. One was tall and the other was short.

Stephens said no shots were fired at the northeast Columbia residence.
