UPDATE: One person is in custody, multiple items found after break-in at a Callaway County church

UPDATE 10/17: The Callaway County Sheriff’s Department reports multiple items have been recovered and one person is in custody connected to the break-in.

Callaway County Sheriff Clay Chism said the items were found in Cole County and the investigation is still ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church just outside Holts Summit.

A pastor with the church told ABC 17 News the break-in happened Thursday night. He said tools, copper and an HVAC system were stolen from the church, which is currently under construction.

The pastor said the construction for the new church started in April.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call Callaway CrimeStoppers at 573-592-2474 to remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted online at callawaysheriff.org.
