TRAFFIC ALERT: Multiple crashes on Highway 63 in Boone County

UPDATE: Highway 63 and Friendship Church Road

According to the Boone County Fire Protection District, the semi truck was carrying sugar beet pellets when it ran off the road and flipped over around 10:20 p.m.

The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The vehicle dragged a couple hundred yards of guardrail when it ran off the side of the highway.

As of 11:15 p.m., MoDOT had been contacted to clean up the guardrail and temporarily fix the road.

UPDATE: Highway 63 and New Salem Lane

The t-bone crash happened just before 10:15 p.m. and involved two vehicles.

According to one emergency responder, a vehicle was traveling south when another vehicle pulled into the road.

ORIGINAL STORY: Emergency crews are currently responding to two crashes in Boone County on Highway 63.

The first is in the southbound lane at New Salem Lane, just north of the Ashland exit. ABC 17 News has heard unconfirmed reports that an extrication may be needed.

The second crash is north of Columbia, also in the southbound lane, by Friendship Church Road. Emergency crews have said a tractor trailer is upside down in a ditch.
