Columbia woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend pleads guilty to voluntary manslaughter

A Columbia woman charged with murder has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and possession.

Monique Parra was accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend, Kevin Hollins, on Kathy Drive last November.

Parra had a pretrial conference at 9 a.m. Monday morning.

Police said when they were investigating the shooting, Parra claimed that she and Hollins were arguing over the gun when it went off.

Parra will serve eight years for voluntary manslaughter and 3 years for possession, serving those concurrently.
