Warm and humid Saturday, severe storms possible tonight
TODAY: We’ll have partly sunny skies and a warm, breezy afternoon. Temperatures climb well above-average into the mid to upper 80s. Southerly winds will increase up to 16 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph.
TONIGHT: A line of showers and thunderstorms will move in from the northwest after 9 PM. Severe storms are possible Saturday evening with the primary threat damaging winds of 58 mph or greater. There is also a lower chance of large hail and an isolated tornado. The severe threat is greatest for our northern counties. Heavy rain is likely with some of the storms. Most areas will see .50″ to 1.0″ rainfall with local amounts up to 1.5″ possible. Storms will move to the southeast to near I-44 by early morning Sunday and end as cooler, drier air moves in. Northwesterly winds will gust to 30 mph overnight Saturday into early Sunday morning as temperatures fall into the low to mid 50s.
EXTENDED: With increasing sunshine Sunday, it will remain cool with high temperatures only near 60. Sunday night will be the coldest night yet this season as we drop to near 40 with upper 30s possible north of I-70.
