Missing Jefferson City man found
UPDATE 11:42 pm: The State Highway Patrol lifted the alert just before midnight Friday confirming Christie has been found safe.
UPDATE 1:55 pm Friday: ABC17 talked with the administrator of Oak Tree Villas, the residential care facility Christie was living at.
The administrator said Christie’s routine is to eat dinner and then go walk his dog, so the staff did not think anything was unusual on Thursday night.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday Christie’s son came to visit and discovered Christie was not there, administrators said.
The administrators said they looked at security footage and saw Christie leave in his car around 6:15 p.m.
The Villas’ employees are concerned about Christie’s wellbeing and hopes the advisory works in finding him.
ORIGINAL: The Jefferson City Police Department has issued an endangered silver advisory for John Christie, 81.
Police said Christie has dementia and is hearing impaired.
Officers said Christie is known to drive a light blue 2010 Chrysler Town and County van bearing Oklahoma plates CPL405.
Police said they do not know where Christie is traveling.
Christie was last seen with his Yorkshire terrier in the parking lot of his residential care facility at 3108 West Truman Boulevard, police said.
Officers said Christie recently moved to Jefferson City from Oklahoma and is unfamiliar with the area.
Christie becomes confused and easily frustrated, police said.
