Active shooter training to take place in Holts Summit

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Department and the Holts Summit Police Department will have an active shooter training at North Elementary School on Saturday.

According to the sheriff’s department, they take a strong approach to protecting local schools so they train inside the buildings.

The departments want citizens to know that there will be no emergency, but they will most likely see law enforcement vehicles, barrier tape and signs.

Patrol cars will start arriving at the school around 7 a.m. and the training wraps up about 5:30 p.m.
