TONIGHT: Tonight will be mild as clouds increase in mid-Mo leading to mostly cloudy skies as winds remain out of the south up to 7 mph. Overnight lows will only drop into the mid to upper 60s. Late Friday into early Saturday there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms north of HWY 24.

EXTENDED: Showers and thunderstorms will be ongoing into early Saturday morning before ending by mid-morning. It will be a hot day Saturday with high temperatures reaching the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. Later in the afternoon, a line of showers and thunderstorms in northwest Missouri will move to the southeast and into Mid-Missouri as early as 5 PM. These storms could be strong to severe with the damaging winds and large hail the primary threats along with heavy rain. An isolated tornado is also possible. These storms will move to the southeast through early Sunday morning as they weaken and end by mid-morning Sunday near I-44. Rainfall amounts of .50″ to .75″ are likely Saturday night with a stripe of 1″ to 1.5″ possible along and just south of I-70. Cooler air will move in Sunday, keeping our high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s with clearing skies. The work week will start mild and dry with high temperatures in the upper 60s. Temperatures will slowly warm into the 70s by the second part of next week. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
