Wanted man arrested after fleeing deputies in Boone County

UPDATE 5:16 pm: Ingram has been charged with tampering with a motor vehicle, driving with a revoked license, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, delivery of a controlled substance and tampering with an electronic monitoring equipment.

ORIGINAL STORY: Boone County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 44-year-old Columbia man who had an active $10,000 bond arrest warrant.

Deputies tried to make contact with Shawn Ingram in the 2100 block of Sycamore Hills Rd. just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, deputies say they saw Ingram run into a nearby wooded area.

Deputies used K9 units to search the area and caught up with Ingram a short time later.

Ingram was wanted by the department for first-degree t ampering with a motor vehicle, distribution of a controlled substance, three counts of resisting arrest and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Ingram’s total bond for those charges is $18,500.

Ingram had two active arrest warrants at the time of the arrest.

The warrants were for failure to obey a judge’s order, felony receiving stolen property and $5,000 cash-only bond arrest warrant for driving while suspended and resisting arrest.

Deputies also arrested 52-year-old Gerald Summers who was at the house along with Ingram.

The Columbia man was carrying a large amount of meth, according to the deputies.

Summers was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and is currently being held at the Boone County Detention Facility on $4,500 bond.
