Severe storms could impact your weekend

For the start of the weekend we will see increased heat and humidity as temperatures rise into the 80s. This unseasonal, summer like weather will come to an end by Sunday as a strong cold front tracks through mid-Missouri.

This cold front will give way for some rainfall starting as early as Saturday morning, mainly north of I-70. As the front pushes through Saturday night we will see organized storms develop, giving us a chance to see strong to even severe storms. Threats include localized heavy downpours, damaging winds, and large hail. Be prepared for this potentially dangerous weather as the ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team continues to track the system through the weekend.
