Columbia man arrested after police were called to a church for reports of a man waving gun around

Columbia police arrested Reco Lomax after they were called to Second Baptist Church in reference to a man waving a gun around.

Police said when they arrived on scene, they saw Lomax behind the church.

Lomax had a gun in his jacket, officers said.

Police arrested Lomax and searched him, finding drug paraphernalia and a white crystal substance in his pants pocket.

Officers said the white substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Lomax was arrested and is facing possible charges of possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
