Columbia man charged with robbery and armed criminal action

Columbia police arrested Jeremy Nash after he was accused of robbery and armed criminal action.

According to the probable cause statement, a woman reported that her nephew was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday.

Police said the incident happened when Keaveon Harris knew that the child had a $100 bill in his pocket.

Police said Harris told the child to go his apartment in the 1000 block of Claudel Lane.

The child was inside the residence when Harris pointed a gun at him and Nash pulled his pants to the ground, searched his pockets, ripped off his belt, and took off his shoes, police said.

Officers said Harris threatened the victim with the gun by pointing it at the child’s head.

Police made contact with Harris and a few other suspects and searched the apartment.

Officers said they saw drug paraphernalia in plain view and found two guns buried in clothing.

Harris admitted to officers he was there at the time of the incident but blamed the robbery on Nash, police said.

According to the probable cause statement, Nash is a danger to the community because he has a previous arrest for violent activity.
