Rain chances increase as cooler air moves in

TONIGHT: A cold front will slowly move to the southeast across Mid-Missouri at the same time an area of low pressure tracks to our south. Showers and t-storms will increase from the west after 10 PM, becoming more widespread after midnight as they track to the east. No severe weather is expected. Lows will drop into the upper 50s to near 60 with increasing northeasterly winds up to 15 mph by morning.

TUESDAY: Temperatures will fall as scattered showers continue in the morning, gradually shifting to the east into the afternoon. There is a marginal risk of severe storms for areas east of HWY 63 in the afternoon for possible isolated storms, mainly for Gasconade and Montgomery counties eastward. High temperatures will only reach the upper 50s in areas west of HWY 63 to the low 70s farther east.

EXTENDED: Most areas will see .25″ -.50″ through Tuesday but a few spots could pick up .75″ rain. It will be cooler Tuesday night with lows dropping to near 50 under mostly cloudy skies. Wednesday looks mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid 60s. By Wednesday night, we’ll see a return of southerly winds and temperatures will rapidly warm into the 70s and 80s throughout the rest of the week. The summer pattern looks to once again be challenged as we head into next weekend, as a cold front looks to bring another chance of storms Saturday as we reach the mid to upper 80s, followed by cooler weather Sunday.
