Man arrested for ‘attacking’ girlfriend, police say

A St. Louis man bonded out of Boone County Jail after police said they arrested him on suspicion of attacking his girlfriend.

Police said they were sent to the 3800 block of Aspen Heights Parkway for an assault call.

They said the investigation showed Eric Carpenter “attacked” a woman he is in an intimate relationship with.

Police said Carpenter cut the woman’s arm with a kitchen knife, and locked the door to the residence and took her fun to prevent her from leaving or calling for help.

Once the woman was able to leave the home, police said Carpenter pulled her back inside causing them both to fall to the ground. Officers saw a deep cut on the woman’s arm.

Carpenter was arrested on suspicion of armed criminal action, domestic assault, and felonious restraint – second-degree kidnapping.
