Columbia police arrest woman accused of stealing multiple items from Dick’s Sporting Goods

Columbia police arrested Morgan Shamhart after officers were called to Dicks Sporting Goods Store on Stadium Boulevard for reports of theft.

Police said the investigation revealed that on two separate occasions, Shamhart stole merchandise from the store.

Police said a male suspect would bring items up to the register Shamhart was working. She would ring the items up, and then would void some of them so the man would not have to pay for them, officers said.

Police said Shamhart and the man stole 17 clothing items from the store, totaling more than $800.

Shamhart was arrested on suspicion of theft.

Police said the other suspect has not been arrested.
