Columbia police arrest two, accused of tampering with evidence on Rolling Rock Drive

Columbia police arrested Darren Carter and Deandre Winters who are both accused of tampering with physical evidence related to police finding a shooting victim on Rolling Rock Drive.

Police said during their investigation they learned the scene had been tampered with by Carter and Winters.

Detectives said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the victim receiving the gunshot wound.

Police said the victim remains in critical condition.

MU News Bureau Director Christian Basi said an MU alert was not sent out because the threat level did not constitute an alert. Basi said all alerts are sent out on a case by case basis. He did not explain further as police are still investigating.
