Above average temperatures for Columbus Day

TONIGHT: It will be a calm night under mostly clear skies. Overnight lows will bottom out in the upper 50s. Some patchy fog is possible, but most areas should remain clear. Winds will be light out of the southeast up to 7 mph.

MONDAY: With the mild start to the day, summer conditions will quickly return to Mid-Missouri. With mostly sunny skies expected through the day, temperatures will quickly warm into the lower 80s. We’ll see a slight increase in humidity, as winds out of the southeast up to 9 mph will pump in more moisture. This moisture will lead to an increase in some evening storms as a frontal boundary begins to slowly work into Mid-Missouri Monday night into Tuesday.

EXTENDED: By Monday evening, a low coming in from Colorado will bring us another round of showers. The greatest rainfall amounts look to be along and north of I-70, as another cold front tracks through the region. No severe weather is expected in Mid-Missouri at this time. Following the cold front, we’ll see a brief shot of fall air as highs climb into the upper 60s both Tuesday and Wednesday. By Wednesday night, we’ll see a return of southerly winds and temperatures will rapidly warm into the 70s and 80s throughout the rest of the week. The summer pattern looks to once again be challenged as we head into next weekend. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
