Owensville man arrested on DWI charge after crashing motorcycle

A man was seriously hurt Friday night when he crashed his motorcycle in Gasconade County, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol records.

The crash report said the motorcyclist, Barry Guittar, 56, of Owensville, was traveling south on Fourth Street around 8:30 p.m. when he went off the right side of the road and lost control of his motorcycle.

Guittar’s motorcycle veered back onto the road, causing him to fly off of it.

The motorcycle continued to travel until it crashed into a ditch.

Guittar was transported to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. The report said Guittar was wearing a safety device.

Shortly after he was transported to the hospital, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers arrested Guittar on charges of driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the correct side of the road.

Online records show Guittar has since been released from the hospital.
