Classic fall night across Mid-Missouri

TONIGHT: It will be a calm and cool night across Mid-Missouri under clear skies. Thanks to the passage of a cold front, we’ll see a classic fall night, as temperatures bottom out in the lower 50s. Some isolated patchy fog is likely, but most areas should remain clear. Winds will be out of the southwest under 8 mph.

SUNDAY: Sunny skies and high pressure will allow summer temperatures to return to Mid-Missouri through the afternoon hours. Highs will top out near 80 degrees, with winds out of the south under 10 mph. Thankfully, the humidity will be on the low side making it feel very comfortable outside. By the evening hours we see the return of the upper 50s back in the forecast for lows.

EXTENDED: The warm and dry weather will continue through Monday, with a repeat of Sunday’s forecast. By Monday evening, a low coming in from Colorado will bring us another round of showers. The greatest rainfall amounts look to be along and north of Interstate 70, as another cold front tracks through the region. No severe weather is expected with this system and it’s likely we’ll only see showers. Following the cold front, we’ll see a brief shot of fall air, as highs climb into the upper 60s both Tuesday and Wednesday. By Wednesday night, we’ll see a return of southerly winds and temperatures will rapidly warm into the 70s and 80s through the rest of the week. The summer pattern looks to once again be challenged as we head into next weekend. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
