Rain Friday and Saturday

There are two areas of rain which will affect Mid-Missouri Thursday night and Friday. Showers and t-storms will continue to move across northern Missouri near a warm front. These will produce heavy rain in areas and are most likely north of HWY 24 through Thursday night. At the same time, scattered light showers will develop from the southwest, as upper level disturbances move through. These will increase Thursday night and continue Friday morning.

After many areas see a wet morning commute Friday, showers will taper off through the afternoon as temperatures climb into the upper 70s to low 80s. We’ll have a break in the rain Friday evening and it looks dry for SportZone Football Friday with a warm, humid evening as temperatures fall through the lower 70s. Winds will pick up from the south to 15 mph ahead of the next cold front which will move in toward Saturday morning.

A line of showers and isolated storms will move in close to 4 AM in our western counties, tracking to the east through Saturday morning, ending by 1 PM. Once these move out, we’ll have increasing sunshine and dry weather from Saturday afternoon through Sunday. Highs will stay in the mid 70s Saturday, climbing to the lower 80s Sunday.

Rainfall amounts from Thursday night through Saturday morning will be highest north of I-70 with 1-3″ possible while areas farther south will see lower amounts.
