Multiple agencies respond to business fire in Huntsville

No one was injured after a business fire in Hunstville Wednesday afternoon.

Nikki Jackson, a neighbor of Wales Auto and Tire, told ABC 17 News she called 911 just before 5 p.m. when she noticed smoke.

“Actually, when we first walked out, you could hear things in there sound like (they were) exploding,” Jackson said. “So I got all the kids and made them go to the side of the house just in case it blew up because they have cars in there.”

Fire Chief Tony Bell of the Westran Fire Protection District said 50 men from multiple agencies responded to the fire including Higbee, Cairo, and Moberly.

It was brought under control within 10 minutes.

UPDATE: The fire has been extinguished.

A resident saw smoke coming from Wales Auto and Tire and made the call to 911 Wednesday afternoon.
