Jefferson City man sentenced for role in Columbia shooting

A Boone County judge sentenced a 20-year-old Jefferson City man Monday to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for his role in an April shooting.

Barron Thompson pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree assault.

The shooting between two cars happened on April 3 in the 3400 block of Crestview Drive. According to a probable cause statement, one of the cars involved in the drive-by shooting belonged to Thompson.

Monterio Truss and Mariquan Midgyett were also arrested in connection to the incident.
