On and off rain chances this week

TONIGHT: A few showers or t-storms are possible with the best chance in the evening hours south of I-70. Showers will increase toward morning as a cold front slowly moves in from the north. Skies will remain cloudy with winds out of the south up to 6 mph with lows in the mid 60s. No severe weather is expected.

WEDNESDAY: The frontal boundary will stall out near I-70 producing scattered showers and isolated t-storms in the morning with decreasing chances into the afternoon and evening. High temperatures will stay in the low to mid 70s under mostly cloudy skies with winds from the south up to 10 mph.

EXTENDED: The stalled front near I-70 will slowly lift to the north Thursday as a warm front with best rain chances along and north of I-70 Wednesday night through Friday morning. Temperatures will stay in the mid 70s Thursday but will warm to near 80 Friday as warmer air moves in behind the warm front. Another line of showers and t-storms will move in Friday evening and overnight as a cold front moves through. Severe weather looks unlikely, but heavy rain with amounts up to 3 inches are possible by early Saturday morning north of I-70 with 1-2″ farther south. Except for a lingering rain chance Saturday morning near I-44, Saturday looks dry with increasing sunshine. Temperatures will stay in the mid-upper 70s this weekend with nights dipping into the lower 50s. Another slight chance of storms returns Sunday afternoon.
