MODOT scheduled to close I-70 ramps for construction beginning Thursday night
The Missouri Department of Transportation warned drivers on Thursday of upcoming lane and ramp closures on Interstate 70.
The work will be a continuation of a project to improve the interstate between the Missouri River Bridge at Rocheport and the Lake of the Woods exit in east Columbia.
The eastbound entrance ramp from Business Loop 70 to I-70, the auxiliary lane between the Business Loop and the U.S. Route 63 Connector, the exit ramp from eastbound I-70 to the Connector and the eastbound entrance ramp from the Connector to I-70 will all be closed on Thursday night from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.
The westbound entrance ramp from Route 763 to I-70, the auxiliary lane between Rangeline Street and Route 163, the exit ramp from westbound I-70 to Providence Road and the westbound entrance ramp from Providence Road will be closed on Monday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
MODOT officials say these schedules are tentative based on weather and the contractor’s progress.
Crews will be repairing pavement, replacing and repairing guardrails and resurfacing the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70.
MODOT plans for the entire project to end in April of 2018.
