Two arrested and charged after troopers find 9 pounds of marijuana in truck
Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers arrested Charles Rose and Hanna Rose for delivery of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the probable cause statement, a trooper noticed a Chevrolet Malibu speeding on Interstate 70.
Troopers said when they pulled the car over and approached it, they noticed three adult passengers and one small child.
Troopers said they brought Charles Rose to the patrol vehicle to ask him questions.
According to the probable cause statement, Charles Rose said he and the others in the car were traveling from Arizona but he later said they had gone to Kansas.
Troopers said that as they continued to ask Charles Rose about his travel plans, the more nervous and uncomfortable he became.
At one point during the questioning, Charles Rose began to tear up, troopers said.
Troopers said when they went back to the vehicle, Hanna Rose stated they were traveling from Arizona to Kentucky.
Troopers said when they asked Charles Rose if he had anything illegal in his possession, he denied he did and then admitted to recently having smoked marijuana and to possessing a marijuana grinder.
According to the probable cause statement, Charles Rose became extremely emotionally distraught and repeatedly said he needed to take his child home.
Troopers said Charles Rose eventually admitted to possessing 9 pounds of marijuana, located in the trunk of his vehicle.
Troopers said they found a suitcase containing 8 vacuumed-sealed bags of marijuana, each bag weighing 1 pound.
Troopers said they also found a 1 pound bag of marijuana inside a child’s backpack.
According to the press release, Charles Rose said the other adult in the vehicle was not an active participant in the offense.
