Pettis County man arrested, charged after deputies find drugs, gun inside his residence

Pettis County deputies arrested Justin Bales after they were granted a search warrant for a residence in the 700 block of East 4th Street in Sedalia.

According to the probable cause statement, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office entered the residence and found Bales in one of the rooms.

Deputies said Bales told them he lived in the room in which he was found.

Deputies said Bales’ room had around 14.4 grams of methamphetamine, a set of digital scales, several small plastic bags and over $400 in cash.

Deputies said they found a pistol with a loaded magazine on the stove, and Bales admitted it was his.

According to the probable cause statement, Washington Elementary School is only 1500 feet away from the residence.

Bales was arrested and charged wth possession of methamphetamine, intent to distribute, unlawful use of a weapon, distribution within a 200 feet of a school zone and possession of paraphernalia.
