Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office gets new K-9 officer

A new K-9 officer is joining the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office.

Through private donations from businesses and individuals along with a BBQ fundraiser, the department raised over $15,000.

K-9 Apollo will begin two months od training with handler Lt. Kevin Morse starting next week. The K-9 Team will be certified and on patrol by December.

“The support we have received from the community has been amazing and nothing like I have ever seen before,” said Sheriff Wheatley. “We will continue to strive to make our department better and make Moniteau County a safe place to live and work.”
