Isolated showers and storms arrive through the evening

MONDAY: It’s another warm day across Mid-Missouri, but thankfully not as humid as what we have been seeing. Temperatures this afternoon will warm into the upper 80s, under a mix of sun and clouds. With southerly winds continuing to pull in moisture, we’ll see heat indices approach the lower 90s today. Isolated showers and storms are likely through the day across Mid-Missouri, with the best chance being along and west of Hwy 63. Any storms we do see will be nonsevere and bring beneficial rain to the region.

TONIGHT: Any storms that remain from the afternoon will gradually fall apart as we lose daytime heating. Once the rain diminishes, we will remain partly cloudy and mild tonight with lows in the mid 60s.

EXTENDED: The best chance for rain and storms arrives Tuesday as a strong cold front moves through. As the upper level flow becomes more zonal, we’ll see the bulk of the energy to our north. This will limit rain we’ll see as we head into Tuesday, with most locations staying dry. The best chance for some isolated storms is Tuesday afternoon. What will be noticeable is the temperature drop behind the cold front. Temperatures will drop into the lower 80s Tuesday and mid 70s Wednesday, with nights cooling into the 50s. The cooler, seasonal weather will last through the end of next week and weekend. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
