Columbia police investigating Sonic Drive-In robbery

Columbia police said they are looking for a man who robbed a Sonic Drive-In Saturday night.

Police said they were dispatched to the Sonic Drive-In on the 5700 block of St. Charles Road around 9:45 p.m.

After investigating, police said a man entered the fast-food restaurant and demanded money from the cashier. The man ran away, heading east, with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police brought a K-9 unit to track down the robber, but the dog was unable to locate the man.

Police said no one was injured during the robbery.

The description of the robber police said they are looking for is a black man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and last seen wearing dark-colored clothing.

Police asked if anyone has information regarding the robbery to call the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers to remain anonymous.
