Missouri State University sets fall enrollment record

According to University Communications at Missouri State, there are more students than ever before on the Springfield campus and throughout the system.

The university says system enrollment increased by 216 to 26,216. Enrollment on the Springfield campus increased by 234 to 24,350.

The Springfield campus also saw an increase in graduate students.

“Missouri State University set some exciting enrollment records this fall,” said President Clif Smart. “Like many institutions, we saw a notable drop in international students this year. We overcame that with our growth in domestic students, including the largest freshman class since we became a selective admission institution.”

The university says the 2017 enrollment figures are based on the 20th day of classes, the state of Missouri’s official enrollment census date.
