Summer heat the next few days, slight storm chance

TONIGHT: We’ll have a warm, muggy night with low temperatures near 70 under mostly clear skies. Winds will come in from the south at 5-8 mph with patchy fog possible by morning.

WEDNESDAY: Temperatures will quickly rise from near 70 at 7 AM to 87 by noon and reach the lower 90s in the afternoon. The humidity will make it feel hotter with heat indices reaching close to 100 as southerly winds continue near 10 mph.

EXTENDED: A weak cold front will move in from the northwest Wednesday evening, bringing a chance of t-storms after 7 PM. The best chance is west of HWY 63 and north of HWY 50 where there is a marginal risk to see severe storms with damaging wind and large hail. There is a slight chance of early AM storms Thursday north of I-70 but most areas will stay dry. The heat and humidity will stay with us into the weekend with high temperatures near 90 and heat indices in the upper 90s to near 100 under partly cloudy skies. Sunday will cool down slightly with highs in the mid to upper 80s with storm chances returning by Monday. Watch ABC17 News for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
