Isolated showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and an increase in heat

TODAY: Heading into the afternoon, we will see clouds begin to break up with a slight chance for an isolated storm west of HWY 63. Winds remain out of the south under 10 mph, with highs feeling more like August in the upper 80s.

TONIGHT: Winds will remain out of the south up to 8 mph allowing temperatures to stay mild through the overnight hours, with lows only dropping into the upper 60s. Skies will remain mostly clear with another chance for patchy fog as you wake up Wednesday morning.

EXTENDED: Wednesday evening into Thursday morning brings another chance to see isolated showers and thunderstorms. Areas north of HWY 24 have a marginal risk to see severe storms with damaging wind and large hail. The heat and humidity will stay with us, helping us feel more like August instead of September due to a dominating ridge and southerly winds. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s, with overnight lows near 70. Our warm spell looks to be challenged by the weekend, as a digging trough will likely bring cooler weather as we head into next week with rain chances back in the forecast.
