Wife of a Mo-TF1 member shares tribute of her late husband
On Monday, Amy Bosche, the wife of Dr. Chris Bosche, a Missouri Task Force One medical team manager, shared a tribute about her late husband with the Boone County Fire Protection District.
Bosche had passed away on September 13 from an illness he contracted from responding to the World Trade Center in 2001.
In the tribute she writes Bosche first came to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri’s medical school. While at school, he got the “fire bug” and joined the Boone County Fire Protection District.
While in Columbia, Chris decided to join Mo-TF1.
Bosche later moved to Toledo, Ohio for his residency in emergency medicine.
On September 11, 2001, Bosche was flying in a medical helicopter at St. Vincent’s Mercy. The helicopter ended up getting grounded at a different hospital and Bosche had to be picked up.
Amy Bosche writes that Chris Bosche knew it was only a matter of time before he was called to help in New York City. The call came a few weeks later for Bosche to help with OH 1 DMAT.
Amy says Bosche was in New York for three weeks assisting the crews that were searching for medical aid.
During Chris Bosche’s time on Mo-TF 1, he was deployed to New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina, to Atlanta for Hurricane Ernesto, to Joplin for the tornado, and to New York for Hurricane Sandy.
At the end of Amy Bosche’s tribute, she writes, “It is hard to believe that I have lost my best friend, and my kids have lost their daddy. Everyone that knew Christ has been affected by this. Please know, if you were his family or friend, you were special to him and us.”
