Sedalia police say 16-year-old arrested had weapon, property from robbery

Sedalia police say they arrested a 16-year old boy after they found evidence from a robbery in his possession.

According to the probable cause statement, in July a man called police saying he had been shot at. When police arrived on the scene, they found that the victim had been robbed.

Police say the victim was on Facebook, looking for phones for sale and found one in Sedalia.

The victim contacted Kenkori Grant to work out the details of getting the phone.

Police say the victim met Grant and Xavier Moore at Centennial park.

The victim checked the phone but could not unlock it. Moore and Grant could not get it unlocked either, police say.

The victim decided not to by the phone.

Grant and Moore asked the victim to take them home and got in his car, police say.

The victim eventually paid $220 for the phone; Grant then pulled a gun on the victim, police say.

They all got out of the car, and the victim would not obey Grant and Moore’s orders, police say.

Police say that is when Grant gave the gun to Moore; Moore then hit the victim in the face and abdomen.

The victim gave the phone back, but Grant and Moore kept the money, police say.

Moore ran off and Grant grabbed a Walmart bag full of the victim’s items and $80, police say.

Moore was located in the 1400 block of East Broadway, police say.

Moore’s guardian gave consent for the police to search the residence, police say.

Police say they found a stolen gun, identified as the robbery weapon, under the couch where Moore sleeps, the items from the Walmart bag, money and marijuana.

Moore was arrested and interviewed with a juvenile officer and guardian.

Grant is still at large.
