Morgan County deputies use Narcan to save unresponsive man’s life

Morgan County deputies were dispatched to a residence off of Route TT for reports of a possible overdose on Sunday.

Deputies say when they arrived on the scene, they found an unresponsive 20 year-old male on the floor of the residence.

Witnesses said that the man had drank from a jar containing an unknown liquid.

Deputies administered Narcan and the man began to breathe.

Narcan is used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

Deputies say ambulance personnel arrived and took over treatment.

The man refused to be transported by medical personnel and was taken by friends to a local hospital for further treatment.

Deputies say they seized suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia from the residence.

According to the sheriff’s office, all patrol deputies and detectives were equipped with Narcan back in July.
