Moberly house fire sends one to hospital, estimated to cost $20,000 in damages

On Sept. 17, 2017, at 2:11 a.m. the Moberly Fire Department was called to 420 Halleck, Moberly, MO for a structure fire.

At 2:15 a.m., MFD found heavy flames and smoke coming from the back of the home. MFD had the fire under control by 2:25 a.m.

Firefighters found a woman inside the home while they were attacking the fire. Members of the MFD brought the woman outside, where she was deemed unresponsive and not breathing. MFD started CPR.

The woman was taken by Randolph County Ambulance District (RCAD) to Moberly Regional Medical Center with lacerations, second degree burns, smoke and heat inhalation injuries. The woman was later taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

There was severe fire damage to the kitchen and laundry rooms with heavy smoke damage throughout the house, according to the fire marshal. The fire is still under investigation and damage to the house is estimated to be $20,000.
