Dense fog tonight, with strong storms likely for Monday

TONIGHT: It looks dry overnight, with a small chance for stray showers. Temperatures tonight will bottom out in the mid 60s, with winds out of the northeast under 7 mph. Dense fog is possible through the night, thanks to a combination of recent rain and light winds.

MONDAY: The morning will start of foggy, with most of the fog along and south of Interstate 70. Due to the humid environment and cloudy skies, fog will likely take a while to lift. While the morning will start off dry, storms will increase through the day. A series of upper level disturbances will track from the southwest and bring with it a chance for strong storms. A marginal risk for severe storms is in place across Mid-Missouri, with the main threat being damaging winds and large hail. Highs tomorrow will top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s, with winds out of the south under 10 mph.

EXTENDED: The active weather pattern dies down as we head into the middle of the week, with storms becoming more isolated in nature and primarily during the early morning hours. The heat and humidity stay with us and will feel more like August instead of September. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s, with overnight lows near 70. Our warm spell looks to be challenged by the weekend, as a digging trough will likely bring cooler weather as we head into next week.
