Hot weather Saturday, storm chance Sunday

A storm system over the Northern Plains states will send a weak cold front into Missouri Saturday night which will finally bring much needed rain to parts of Mid-Missouri. Ahead of this front, winds will increase from the south up to 15 mph Saturday and it will feel slightly humid as temperatures climb into the upper 80s, topping out near 90 under mostly sunny skies.

Storms are expected to develop in northwestern Missouri Saturday evening, heading to the southeast and into Mid-Missouri after midnight. These will weaken as they track to southeast through early Sunday morning, ending by noon. While it’s possible to see a strong storm north of I-70, severe storms are not expected.

Skies will remain mostly cloudy through Sunday afternoon with only a spot storm chance as the cold front stalls just south of I-70. This front will move back to the north Sunday night into Monday morning as a warm front with additional showers and storms possible Sunday night through Monday morning as it moves through.
