Fulton Medical Center sold, will stay open
Fulton Medical Center has been sold, officials for the hospital said on Friday.
The hospital entered into a sale transaction with EmpowerHMS. As a result, the health care management company will assume ownership of the rural Missouri hospital.
Officials say the hospital’s doors will stay open and the company plans on keeping most of the employees.
“We are very excited at the prospect of keeping Fulton Medical Center operating in the heart of the community,” said Mike Powell, chief executive officer of FMC.
Fulton Medical Center is the only hospital in Callaway County.
EmpowerHMS specializes in managing rural or critical access hospitals.
