Boone County firefighers battle blaze southwest of Sturgeon

The Boone County Fire Department said a home was a complete loss Thursday night.

Emergency responders got the call about the blaze just before 11 p.m. from a passerby who saw the home on fire.

When crews got on the scene, they said the home was fully involved and some trees and grass were burning too.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire near the area of Locust Grove Road and Thomas Hill Road.

The home was an unoccupied rental. Firefighters on the scene said no was injured.

Investigators were also on the scene working to determine a cause Thursday night. They said they will return Friday in the daylight to survey the area more efficiently.
