UPDATE: Columbia man charged with drug trafficking, weapons possession
UPDATE 9/14/17 7:20 a.m.: Logan is charged with second-degree drug trafficking and unlawful possession of a firearm.
ORIGINAL STORY: Columbia police arrested Donnell Logan, 50, Tuesday evening in the 2500 block of Eastwood Drive after they say he threatened to kill a female victim.
According to the police report, the victim told officers that the threats on her life had been occurring for the past year.
“The victim said Logan recently purchased a shotgun and hid it somewhere in the house,” said the report.
With a previous criminal record, Logan is not legally allowed to puchase or own firearms.
Police said 66 grams of meth were found in plain sight in the garage of the house and a later warranted search yielded “drug paraphernalia, drug packaging materials, $500 in cash and a 12-gauge shotgun.”
Logan was arrested on suspicion of distribution of a controlled substance, fourth-degree domestic assault, and unlawful possession of a concealed weapon.
