Sex offender arrested, charged with child molestation

Miller County deputies arrested Edgar Bilyeu, 70, Tuesday after responding to a complaint of child molestation.

Deputies were told that Bilyeu had sexual contact with a victim in Kaiser at an undisclosed date and time.

Assisted by the Miller County Children’s Division and Kids Harbor, Miller County detectives interviewed and later arrested Bilyeu, saying he admitted to the crime.

Bilyeu was convicted in 1990 of sexually abusing a 10-year-old in Camden County, a conviction that resulted in his status as a registered sex offender.

Bilyeu has been charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy and first-degree child molestation. He is currently being held on a $200,000 bond in the Miller County Adult Detention Center.
