Morgan County woman charged with pulling gun out at local fast food restaurant

Laurie police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Main Street on Tuesday to help assist in a domestic assault investigation involving a firearm.

According to the probable cause statement, a gun was pulled out at the Sonic Drive Thru.

When officers arrived on scene they approached a vehicle alleged to be involved in the incident.

Officers identified the driver as Natalie Berry who was cooperative and told the officers where her firearm was located inside her vehicle.

When officers asked Berry what happened, she explained while she was at the drive thru window her ex-boyfriend pulled up next to her and started taunting her.

Berry said they both pulled over to the north side of the parking lot where the ex-boyfriend preceded to come to her window and continued the taunting.

Berry explained she pulled out her gun and stated she was not afraid to use it. At some point in the interaction the ex-boyfriend walked away from the scene.

Officers note in the statement that at the time of the interaction Berry had a 6-month-old baby in the backseat.

Upon searching the vehicle further, officers found two loaded magazines for Berry’s gun.

There were witnesses on scene that told officers Berry was the primary aggressor in the incident.

A Sonic employee alleged Berry also pulled the gun while she was in the drive thru.

Berry was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, endangering the welfare of a child and domestic assault.

On Thursday, officers said they have not been able to make contact with the ex-boyfriend.
