MODOT launches statewide survey for new transportation plan

The Missouri Department of Transportation has launched a statewide survey with the goal of hearing the public’s opinion about transportation priorities.

The information will be used for updating the Long Range Transportation Plan, a federally required process that sets the state’s 25-year vision for transportation.

According to MODOT Director Patrick Mckenna, the long range planning process is a critical time and an opportunity to hear directly from the public.

Missouri’s current plan was approved in 2014, but new federal laws require additional content.

This year’s plan will be the first time Missouri examines how to prepare for autonomous and connected vehicles.

MODOT says the online survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and will remain open through Wednesday, Oct.11.
