Flu tests turn up positive in Boone County

Doctors at MU Health are reporting several positive testings for the flu.

Dr. Tara Flynn said, “The 2017 and 2018 flu shots are now available at Mizzou pharmacies and clinics for those who want to get them early.”

This week a lot of patients have come into clinics in Columbia with flu-like symptoms. Some of those are headache, body aches, sore throat, cough and fever.

Flynn said for those who get the flu shot it should cover patients for six to nine months, or the duration of the flu season.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell when the flu will hit. Getting the flu shot is the only way to ensure you and your family can be protected from it.
