Chase with stolen truck ends in central Columbia; one in custody

UPDATE: On Monday, Robert Stewart was charged with tampering with a vehicle and resisting arrest for the chase.

UPDATE: 9:30 a.m.: Boone County deputies arrested Robert Stewart after they say he did not pull over for them.

Stewart was booked in the Boone County Jail for resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving, driving with a suspended or revoked license, tampering with a motor vehicle and two out of county warrants.

ORIGINAL STORY: Boone County deputies have confirmed they took a man into custody after a chase ended on East Ash Street around 1 on Monday morning.

Deputies told ABC 17 crews the truck involved in the chase was reported stolen from a different county.
