Woman charged after not paying for food, backing up car into restaurant employee

Columbia police officers arrested a 22-year-old woman early Friday morning after they were called to the Steak n’ Shake restaurant on Clark Lane.

According to a probable cause statement, Tierra Tindall walked out of the restaurant without paying for her $12 meal. A witness told police the waitress followed Tindall and another woman outside telling them to pay for their food while they got into their car.

The witness said the waitress was writing down the license plate number when the car backed into her, knocking her to the ground.

Officers then went to the 300 block of Oak Mount Drive to try to find the two women. Police said the women started running when officers arrived.

Tindall stopped running shortly after while the second woman, Julia Cuno, continued to run and was caught by officers.

Tindall told police she didn’t know she hit the waitress with her car at the restaurant. Court documents state Tindall blew a 0.142% BAC during a breathalyzer test.

She was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and stealing. She’s since bonded out of the Boone County Jail.
