Increasing clouds and remaining pleasant for Thursday
TODAY: We’re seeing some high clouds from Harvey spreading as far north as I-70. No rain is expected with these clouds, but the further south, the more noticeable the cloud coverage. Areas farther north will have more sunshine through the day. High temperatures will reach into the lower 80s with northeasterly winds increasing to 11 mph by late afternoon, with gusts up to 20 mph.
TONIGHT: A cold front will track through Mid-Missouri tonight, bringing with it cooler air. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s, with winds out of the northeast under 10 mph.
EXTENDED: Northerly winds will bring cooler air in on Friday, keeping us in the upper 70s during the day and dropping overnight lows in the low to mid 50s for a cool night. The weather will be pleasant for SportsZone Football Friday with temperatures dropping into the upper 60s by 9 PM. Heading into the weekend, we’ll warm up Saturday into the lower 80s under mostly sunny skies. It will be a hot day Sunday as we reach the upper 80s with a light westerly breeze and sunny skies. The summer-like weather continues for Labor Day as we climb to 90 degrees. A chance of rain returns late Monday night into Tuesday morning as a cold front moves through which will cool temperatures back to the upper 70s next Tuesday. Much cooler air settles in for the middle of next week with days in the mid 70s and nights in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
