Former restaurant owner sentenced to 18 months in prison

The former owner of a now-closed restaurant was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison on a weapons charge Friday.

Billy Owen is the former owner of Panhead Billy’s BBQ in Kingdom City, Mo. In 2015, he was arrested and charged after he admitted to officers he owned more than 20 different firearms and several silencers. As a convicted felon, his possession of these weapons was illegal.

Owen will not be eligible for parole during his sentence. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $3,600. Panhead Billy’s BBQ has since permanently closed, and the location is now home to a new restaurant.
