UM Curators to vote on project approval for Memorial Stadium

The University of Missouri Board of Curators has released a public meeting notice about project approval for the Memorial Stadium South Expansion.

The meeting will be held this Friday at 10:30 a.m.

ABC 17 News previously reported in Dec. of 2016 that Memorial Stadium’s south end zone renovation would be a larger project than initially projected, according to Mizzou Athletics. Suites and a private club for fans along with 5,000 seats close to the field will be added. Inside the new facility, Mizzou Football will have a new weight room, locker room, team meeting room with virtual reality capabilities and a new training room with hydrotherapy amenities.

In Feb. of this year, ABC 17 News reported that the UM Board of Curators approved the architect for Memorial Stadium’s south end zone project by a 5-1 vote in Feb. Populous Inc. out of Kansas City will be the designer for the project. The cost of the architect will be $4.31 million and will be paid with private gifts, according to the meeting’s agenda

ABC 17 News will continue to follow this story and the vote on Friday.
